Are Unlimited Car Wash Memberships Worth It?

Illustration for the guide: Are unlimited car wash memberships worth it?

Most express tunnel washes now sell an unlimited monthly membership: you pay a set price each month and wash as often as you like at any of the chain's locations. A license-plate camera or RFID sticker opens the gate.

What Memberships Cost

Prices vary by chain, wash level and city. As examples from the chains' own websites: Mister Car Wash told members in some markets that its basic exterior plan would rise from $19.99 to $22.99 a month in 2025 and its top Titanium plan to $39.99; Tommy's Express advertises plans "for as little as $19.99" a month, and ModWash's FAQ shows $29.99 for a first car with a discount for a second. Expect roughly $20–$45 a month for one car, depending on tier (checked 2026-10-28; prices change, so confirm at your local wash).

The Break-Even Math

Divide the monthly price by the single-wash price for the same level. If the plan is $30 and one wash of that level is $15, two washes a month already pay for it. People who wash every week (road salt in winter, pollen, dusty roads, rideshare drivers) usually come out ahead. People who wash once a month or less usually do not.
